Brian is a construction lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience, covering both the front’ and ‘back-end’, but with a particular focus on the latter. He has worked on and run many high value arbitrations, court proceedings, adjudications, and expert determinations involving substantial claims for variations, delay, disruption, and prolongation costs.
His disputes experience covers oil and gas, defence, renewables, shipping, logistics, mining, property, general commercial and fraud related matters. Prior to moving to Australia in 2008, he practiced in London for eight years on multi-jurisdictional arbitrations and court proceedings.
In the 2023 Doyle’s Guide, Brian is listed as a ‘rising star’ for construction, infrastructure and projects law matters in the Victorian legal market and as a future leading lawyer within the area.

- Engineer Company Defending a multi-million dollar claim for design defects in respect of municipal swimming pool.
- Barge Builder Defending a multi-million dollar claim by an oil company against a bunker operator.
- Oil & Gas Company Acting for an operator of an FPSO in an arbitration involving claims for US$80 million arising from termination of contract.
