The new South East Queensland Regional Plan released

Market Insights

The Queensland Government has released the final South East Queensland Regional Plan 2017, also known as ‘ShapingSEQ’.

ShapingSEQ took effect on Friday 11 August 2017, replacing the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009 – 2031.

ShapingSEQ is supported by new Regulatory Provisions in the Planning Regulation 2017 and the SEQ Regulatory Maps.

The new Regional Plan includes some important changes including the framework for the introduction of a Housing Supply Expert Panel to deliver the SEQ Growth Monitoring Program aimed at monitoring and managing supply issues and impacts on housing affordability.

It is also important to note that aspects of the new Regulatory Provisions and the SEQ Regulatory Maps have changed from the drafts released in October 2016.
