Planet Ark Power helps facilitate Australia’s largest of its kind grid-connected microgrid launched at IKEA Adelaide

Firm News

HWL Ebsworth has advised Planet Ark Power, an Australian renewable energy engineering firm, in the transformation of the IKEA retail outlet in Adelaide into an unconstrained, grid-connected commercial microgrid.

The HWL Ebsworth team was led by partner Nick Karagiannis. Our team assisted with the suite of documentation connected to the microgrid project, including battery supply arrangements, EPCM and technical management agreements and security documentation.

The IKEA Australia Clean Energy Transformation Project will transition IKEA Adelaide to operating with 100% renewable energy by 2025 and will generate low cost and clean energy for the Adelaide community. The project is being run in conjunction with Planet Ark Power, the South Australian Government, SA Power Networks and Epic Energy.
