Zoe Weir

Zoe Weir is a Partner in the Workplace Relations and Safety team in the Perth office.

Zoe has a diverse skill set, having worked as a senior workplace relations lawyer for 20 years, and as an HR strategic advisor in both Australia and Canada for almost 8 years. This combination of legal knowledge and practice and broad range of hands-on HR experience enables Zoe to provide a strategic and practical approach to workplace issues.

Zoe has provided legal advice to employers across a wide variety of industries, including mining, energy, education, transport, health, manufacturing and financial services, in the private, public and not for profit sectors, on all aspects of workplace relations and compliance.

Experience

Zoe’s experience includes advising:

  • Confidential Clients: by undertaking or providing advice on the investigation of numerous complex workplace issues including, bullying, harassment, discrimination and victimisation;
  • Various Clients: on employee claims before the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission, Fair Work Commission and Federal Circuit Court, including unfair dismissal, adverse action, unlawful discrimination and breach of contract;
  • Various Clients: as to breaches by former employees of their post-employment obligations in relation to confidentiality and intellectual property and enforcing restraints;
  • Various Clients: by developing and delivering training, including in relation to bullying, sexual harassment discrimination and victimisation, as well as whistleblowing;
  • Various clients: with award and agreement and payroll compliance; and
  • Various clients: in relation to the management of performance and disciplinary issues and terminations, including on redundancy.
