Tim Lee

Tim is an experienced transactional and regulatory lawyer who specialises in technology projects, digital transformation and information law (including privacy, cyber security and data commercialisation).

He has extensive customer-side and vendor-side experience in technology procurement, including software licensing, cloud computing, managed services, IT outsourcing and system implementations.

In his information law practice, he assists government and private sector clients to draft privacy policies, conduct privacy impact assessments, negotiate data sharing agreements and manage data breaches.

Experience

Tim’s experience includes advising:

  • Victorian Government agencies on a range of complex data sharing, data analytics and information technology projects. Advising on privacy and data security laws, statutory secrecy provisions, and legislative information sharing mechanisms (including the Victorian Data Sharing Act, the Family Violence Information Sharing scheme and the Child Information Sharing scheme);
  • An Australian bank on a core banking replacement and enterprise-wide digital transformation program, including the migration of core applications and workloads to cloud infrastructure;
  • An ASX 200-listed company on the outsourcing (and offshoring) of the company’s enterprise systems and application support arrangements;
  • A multinational shipping and logistics company on the procurement and implementation of a supply chain management and integrated logistics software solution; and
  • A multinational retail business on the establishment and implementation of a digitally-enabled parcel locker and parcel delivery business, including agreements with technology platform providers, smart locker manufacturers and logistics partners.
