Steven is a Partner in our Melbourne Property team with more than 35 years experience acting for a wide range of developers, vendors and purchasers.
Steven’s areas of legal expertise covers all aspects of acting on sales and acquisitions of residential, commercial and retail property ranging from complex acquisitions with extensive due diligence through to off the plan high rise and broad acre developments, joint ventures and development agreements.
Steven also has extensive experience in acting for developers and owners of retirement villages, aged care facilities and manufactured home parks and is an acknowledged industry leader in this area.
Steven has been named in Best LawyersTM Australia for Property Law and Retirement Villages and Senior Living Law for the last 5 years including ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in Retirement Villages and Senior Living in 2017 and was included in the pre eminent category for Health and Aged Care in the 2018 Doyle’s Guide.

Steven’s recent experience includes:
- Little Projects, Beulah Projects, MRCB, Setia, Boneng Developments, Rescom, Costafox, Sunbright and Panorama Developments on their high rise off the plan residential or mixed use developments;
- Dennis Family Corporation, Asset1, Intrapac, Opencorp and Universal Group on all aspects of their broad acre developments;
- Embracia Group in its acquisition of 3 low care facilities from Huon Health and sale of 7 aged care facilities and 2 retirement villages to McKenzie Group;
- Aurrum on the acquisition on 5 aged care facilities in Victoria and New South Wales;
- Stockland on the sale of 3 retirement villages and providing general advice on operational issues relating to its portfolio of villages; and
- Mecwacare and Steller Lifestyle with advice on the structure of their greenfield retirement village and drafting of resident agreements.
