Simon is a partner in HWLE’s Competition and Consumer practice group and has significant experience in advising clients on competition and consumer matters across a wide variety of industries. Simon’s practice covers all aspects of competition and consumer law, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic corporate advice, dispute resolution (including cartel and class action matters), and compliance with consumer and regulatory obligations.
Simon is recognised by clients for his commercially pragmatic approach. He provides clear, practical advice that helps clients understand and manage their competition, consumer and regulatory obligations, and navigate interactions and investigations with regulators, including the ACCC and ACMA. He further supports clients on franchising and bespoke telecommunications and radiocommunications compliance issues.
Simon has worked closely with clients in the automotive, pharmaceutical, infrastructure, consumer and retail, telecommunications, mining and energy, digital and radiocommunications sectors.

  • Queensland councils Providing advice regarding the collective activity of councils in relation to the development of facilities for the collection of Residual Waste in SEQ.
  • Sugar Terminals Limited Providing advice in relation to collective negotiations with terminal users and dispute resolution.
  • Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation Advising Nippon Sanso (parent company of Supagas) on its acquisition of Coregas and Supagas acquisition of Kleenheat LPG assets in WA and  NT.
  • Commonwealth Bank of Australia Provided advice and assistance to CBA in responding to ACCC’s inquiry into Retail Deposit Products.
