Shirley has a diverse range of experience at top-tier law firms and as in-house counsel.

More recently, Shirley was a Senior Legal Counsel at a global bank, advising internal stakeholders on scams, ePayments Code and Spam Act, and generally supporting its retail branch network in Australia. Shirley was also a Senior Legal Counsel for a major Australian airline, supporting its general insurance portfolio within the airline’s loyalty business. Shirley has substantial experience as in-house counsel at a major Australian bank advising on transactional banking services offered to its institutional clients.

Previously, Shirley held positions as Senior Associate and Associate for a New York-headquartered firm, acting for Wall Street clients in equity and debt capital market deals involving issuers in the US and across Asia. Shirley was also involved in private M&A transactions at the firm.

Shirley began her career in Sydney acting in banking and finance transactions for foreign banks with clients investing in a range of assets in Australia. She also worked on Corporate and Commercial matters including private acquisitions.

Shirley is experienced in corporate governance having recently played a lead role in releasing the Corporate Governance Statement on the ASX for a major Australian bank.
