Sarah is a Special Counsel in the Commonwealth Government practice group, who has advised the Commonwealth Government on all aspects of procurement and contracting matters for over 9 years. Sarah’s key areas of expertise are: government contracting and procurement, major projects, intellectual property, dispute resolution and technology, media and telecommunications.

She has advised on a broad range of complex projects and strategic Commonwealth contracting issues, including risk allocation, indemnities, insurance, the financial framework, performance based contracting, IP, privacy and regulatory compliance issues.

Sarah also advises clients on intellectual property matters, including commercialisation, licensing, registration and enforcement of intellectual property rights, and contract enforcement, including contract management and performance issues, dispute and termination rights. Sarah has extensive experience working with all levels of Government as well as private sector clients.

  • Department of Defence Providing commercial and legal advice to Defence on many major acquisition and sustainment projects, including air, maritime, land, communications, and joint projects. Most recently, Sarah has advised on the Defence Fuel Transformation Project.
  • Commonwealth Government Advising various departments and agencies on commercial and contractual matters including: structuring and drafting contractual arrangements; conducting multi-phased procurement processes; developing RFT documentation and conducting evaluations and negotiations.
  • Intellectual property Advising on complex IP arrangements for major projects, including the granting of IP rights and the scope of IP licences under contract provisions, and issues associated with software, technical documentation and third party rights.
  • Contract management and enforcement Advising on contract management, performance management and enforcement of contractual rights and obligations including alleged breaches of contractual arrangements and disputes, contract variations and termination or suspension of the relevant arrangements.
