Rebecca specialises in commercial disputes and regulatory investigations. She has almost 20 years’ experience in helping clients understand and manage risk and navigate complex disputes.

Rebecca regularly represents clients in both pre-litigation and court ordered mediations.
Rebecca’s commercial litigation practice involves a broad range of corporate/commercial disputes including significant property developments and complex contractual disputes.

Rebecca acts for a range of banking and financial services organisations providing advice on the application and interpretation of the Competition and Consumer Act, AFCA, National Credit Code and Banking Code of Conduct, especially as it applies to securities enforcement.

In the regulatory space, Rebecca acts for Commonwealth Government clients assisting with significant investigations through to court proceedings and the enforcement of court orders.

Experience

Rebecca’s experience includes advising:

  • Commonwealth Government clients in a Federal Court Proceeding concerning alleged breaches of continuous disclosure obligations under the Corporations Act 2001 and breaches of the ASIC Act 2001;
  • Financial services clients defending claims of negligence and breach of statutory duties in the provision of financial advice; and
  • Commercial clients regarding the enforceability of an alleged contract of sale in the Supreme Court of Victoria and on Appeal (successfully).
