Oscar practices in taxation advisory and controversy matters. Oscar’s extensive experience spans issues across the taxation landscape throughout a broad variety of industries within both the private (both large/multinational listed corporations and private clients) and public (federal, state and local) sectors.

Having worked in both legal practice and the taxation practice of a Big Four professional services firm, Oscar understands the practical realities faced by his clients and breaks down complexities to ensure the most efficient and effective outcomes for his clients.

Oscar has undergraduate and postgraduate legal qualifications and is a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Tax Institute. Oscar is admitted as a Lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and has been entered in the Register of Practitioners kept at the Registry of the High Court of Australia.

Experience

Oscar’s experience includes advising:

  • on a broad range of tax issues, including with respect to income tax (including as it relates to the capital gains regime), international tax (including the application of double taxation treaties), trust taxation, estate planning and administration, employee share schemes, goods and services tax, fringe benefits tax, payroll tax, pay-as-you-go withholding, duty, land tax, and superannuation guarantee contributions/superannuation guarantee charge;
  • on Australian Taxation Office and state revenue authority review, audit and dispute processes, including the management of objections and voluntary disclosures;
  • on pre-lodgment engagement with revenue authorities, including the management of private ruling applications;
  • on prudential audits and risk reviews;
  • on taxation remediation projects; and
  • on taxation debt management.
