Natasha Breach

Natasha specialises in construction dispute resolution, including providing advice and representation in arbitration (domestic and international) and litigation proceedings, as well assistance in claims management before formal proceedings are commenced. Natasha has advised on, and managed, large international arbitrations seated in different jurisdictions around the world (Singapore, London). Natasha has extensive mediation, hearing and trial experience.

Natasha is also experienced in adjudications under the security of payment legislation (the now Construction Contracts (Former Provisions) Act 2004 (WA) and the Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 (WA)) and resultant enforcement proceedings, as well as general commercial dispute resolution.

Natasha received the inaugural West Australian Bar Association Distinguished Service Award in 2014, for her contributions to pro bono work at the West Australian Bar, both on behalf of all members of the Association and the community in general. Natasha has also been listed in Doyles this year under the “Leading Construction & Infrastructure Litigation Lawyers – Western Australia, 2024”.

Experience

Natasha’s experience includes advising:

  • The owner of a large petrochemical plant in Western Australia in respect of a large number of high value claims involving contractual interpretation and claims management advice, international arbitration and international Court proceedings;
  • The owner and operator of a large LNG Plant in the Northern Territory in respect of a large number of high value claims involving contractual interpretation and claims management advice and international arbitration and Supreme Court proceedings;
  • Various clients in advice and representation with respect to commercial matters in dispute in the State Administrative Tribunal, District Court, Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Court and Federal Court;
  • Various clients in advice and representation with respect to construction and mining matters in dispute in the State Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates Court, Wardens Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Court; and
  • Various clients in respect of adjudication applications (many being multi-million dollar claims).
