Michael is a Partner in HWLE Lawyers Sydney Property Team and has more than 15 years’ experience advising in relation to commercial, industrial and residential property, in both New South Wales and Queensland.
Michael specialises in complex commercial property transactions, acquisitions and disposals, developments, due diligence, subdivisions, strata renewal and amalgamations, project financing and joint venture arrangements. He also specialises in commercial, industrial and retail leasing for both landlords and tenants.
He has significant experience with the strata renewal process, acting for developers, owners’ corporations, in relation to commercial and residential strata schemes.
He regularly acts and has acted for New South Wales state government entities, listed and unlisted property trusts and developers, major corporates, high net worth individuals, multinationals and private investment companies.

- PEET In relation to its Googong Township joint venture greenfield development with Mirvac comprising approximately 6,000 residential and commercial lots.
- Toohey Miller In relation to the acquisition, funding and development of seven (7) residential and commercial strata title buildings and preparing options, contracts, project delivery agreements, development agreements and off the plan contracts, and advising in relation to a number of strata renewal proposals.
- Barings In relation to the property aspects of its $200 million private equity acquisition of a majority stake in Swift Storage, with a portfolio of 20+ industrial sites in Queensland.
- Piety Group In relation to the acquisition and disposal of a number of development sites, including the $200m disposal of the Intercontinental Hotel, Double Bay.
- Thirdi Group In relation to the acquisition and development of a number of development sites and strata title buildings, including preparation of off the plan contracts.
