• Homa Games Advising a major player in the mobile gaming development space, in relation to its copyright in popular mobile game “Alli n Hole” and commencing Federal Court action against an Australian based developer who had infringed HOMA’s copyright by copying a large percentage of HOMA’s JSON files in “All in Hole”. The matter was successfully resolved.
• Breakwater Island Ltd Advising the operator of The Ville Hotel-Resort & Casino, defend various charges brought by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) in relation to alleged conduct by the Casino. The charges were vigorously defended and resulted in a withdrawal of all charges by the Regulator on the day prior to the commencement of trial.
• Triple Eight Race Engineering Aust Pty Ltd Advising (Red Bull Ampol Racing) in an appeal to the Supercars National Court of Appeal in respect of a decision by the Stewards which resulted in the disqualification of both Triple 8 Red Bull Ampol cars from the first race of 2023 Repco Supercars Championship at the Newcastle East Street Circuit.
• The State of Queensland Advising the Queensland Government Department, Queensland Health (Qld Health) in litigation commenced by Qld Health against international medical equipment manufacturer, Medtronic, in relation to the purchase of 29 defective ICU ventilators. The matter was resolved ahead of trial.
• The State of Queensland Advising the Queensland Government Department, Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in a dispute involving the termination of an ITC contract.
• Container Exchange (Qld) Pty Ltd (COEX) Being the product responsibility organisation appointed under the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011 (Qld) in two Supreme Court of Queensland matters commenced by former container refund point operators.
• Abell Point Marina Advising in a copyright dispute in the Federal Circuit Court regarding the use of drone footage of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
• Queensland Nickel Advising the general purpose liquidators of Queensland Nickel (in liquidation) in Supreme Court of Queensland proceedings against Clive Palmer and his media adviser for defamation arising from in excess of 20 separate publications of defamatory material against them.
