Matthew is a Special Counsel in our Construction and Infrastructure group who specialises in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Matthew regularly assists clients in the Construction, Infrastructure and Property industries.

Experience

Matthew’s experience includes acting for:

  • A large subcontractor in its successful claim against a head contractor at International Arbitration. The dispute related to the construction of a major infrastructure project in the Northern Territory and the amount in dispute exceeded $120m;
  • A group of traditional landowners in Papua New Guinea representing the rights and interests of the group in relation to a series of long-running disputes arising out of the operations of an international mining company;
  • A party in Supreme Court proceedings in relation to a shareholders’ dispute where the shareholding in question is valued at in excess of $100M; and
  • A commercial party on the contractual rights and liabilities (and assisting in the preparation of contractual claims) in a dredging joint venture in Queensland where the value of the dredging works contract was in excess of $100m.
