Matthew specialises in insolvency and reconstruction, commercial litigation & dispute resolution, taxation recoveries, securities enforcement and Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) matters.

He is recognised in Doyle’s Guide for 2015 and 2016 – Leading Queensland Insolvency Lawyers and Leading Queensland Litigation & Dispute Resolution Lawyers. Experience

Matthew’s experience includes advising:

  • Liquidators in relation to an uncommercial transaction claim involving the avoidance of transfers to related entities;
  • Major Australian Bank in recovery proceedings, including obtaining a property preservation order and Mareva order to facilitate the return of property;
  • Court appointed receivers in relation to a failed property scheme, and associated recovery actions;
  • New Zealand Medical Supplier in a recovery action in Australia, involving cross-border insolvency issues; and
  • Australian Taxation Office in setting aside a Deed of Company Arrangement, which would have deprived the Commissioner of Taxation of significant revenue.
