Experience

Leighton’s experience includes advising:

  • CPB Contractors on several projects including an ICC arbitration arising out of the construction of a Commonwealth quarantine facility in Victoria, the Westgate Tunnel project and the Terminal 4 development at Melbourne Airport;
  • Grocon in relation to several high value rise ‘build to rent’ developments;
  • VicRoads in relation to the construction, maintenance and operation of its road and traffic sign network;
  • TFE Hotels trading as Medina Serviced Apartments on their Supreme Court of Victoria proceedings seeking an injunction preventing a landlord from denying the exercise of an option to renew a commercial lease;
  • Blackstone Group / 151 Property Management on the establishment of procurement protocols for its property development business and on the preparation of a suite of contract documents and contract administration tools for its property development business;
  • Icon Co on the preparation of a suite of contract documents and contract administration tools for its property development business;
  • Mirvac on the redevelopment of its shopping centres, including procurement strategies, drafting and negotiating D&C Contracts and assisting with project delivery;
  • Colonial First State Property Management on the redevelopment of its shopping centres, including procurement strategies, drafting and negotiating D&C Contracts and assisting with project delivery; and
  • Department of Education and Training on an adjudication claim and subsequent Supreme Court proceedings (Contract Control Services v DET [2017] VSC 507) arising out of the Bendigo Theatre Redevelopment.
