Katrina Brown

Katrina practises in all aspects of property law specialising in commercial and residential acquisitions and disposals, due diligence, all aspects of property development with a focus on residential land subdivisions and mortgagee/receiver sales.

Katrina has acted for a broad range of clients including public and private national property developers, financial institutions, international and national business advisory firms, small to medium developers and commercial, residential and industrial property owners.

Katrina acts for a number of residential land property developers in greenfield estates that include town centres, schools, community facilities, display villages, golf course and clubhouse, sports fields and recreational centres. Katrina undertakes all aspects of the development including off the plan contracts (for residential land, house and land packages, townhouses and apartments), put and call option agreements, display village deeds and sale of commercial/retail sites (child care, townhouses and other commercial and retail uses).

Experience

Katrina’s experience includes advising:

  • Ausbuild Group on a number of acquisitions and due diligence for future residential land subdivisions and townhouse sites and on the development of its residential land developments;
  • AVJennings on a number of acquisitions and due diligence for residential subdivisions and on the development of its residential developments in Queensland;
  • Mirvac Group on the development of its projects including its large greenfield estates at Gainsborough Greens, Pimpama and Everleigh, Greenbank;
  • Villawood on the development of Montego Hills, Sequana and Surrounds and a number of acquisitions and due diligence of future residential and commercial subdivisions;
  • Public Company on a number of acquisitions and due diligence for future residential land subdivisions and sales of large englobo parcels for various future commercial uses;
  • Mortgagees on the development of a number of residential land subdivisions as a mortgagee exercising power of sale;
  • Agricultural sites being involved in the acquisition and sale of a number of cattle and farming properties throughout North Queensland;
  • Government Work acting for a developer on a funding agreement with a Commonwealth Department and in early acquisitions with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and acting for the Commonwealth Government on various residential land subdvisions in Queensland including various sales and disposals of residential property; and
  • General Work acting for various public and private clients on the acquisition and disposal of various sites throughout South-East Queensland including medical centres, future development sites in the Brisbane CBD, small office buildings in the Brisbane CBD, townhouse sites and childcare centres.
