Jonathan Davies
Jonathan is an experienced construction and infrastructure lawyer, valued for his practical and strategic insight into project delivery. Prior to joining HWL Ebsworth, Jonathan worked for a tier 1 construction contractor and the Department of Defence.
Jonathan advises government agencies and private clients on all aspects of the project lifecycle, including contracting types, market approaches and documentation, negotiation, contract administration, claims management, insurance claims, investigations and dispute resolution. Jonathan also regularly prepares standard form contracting templates and delivers in-house training for his clients’ commercial teams.
Experience
Jonathan’s experience includes advising:
- Laing O’Rourke Australia on major road, rail and defence projects under ITC and Managing Contractor models;
- Department of Defence on bespoke market approach documentation (RFTs, contracting templates and scopes of work) for use in maritime sustainment, and the conduct of procurement processes and contract negotiations;
- various civil and building contractors on tenders and departures for D&C and construct only projects in South Australia and nationally;
- a large food processor on major upgrades to their processing facilities under an EPC contract, staged in a live operating environment; and
- a state government agency on a major workplace investigation and the resolution of associated proceedings in the Supreme Court of South Australia.
