Diana is a Special Counsel in the HWLE Corporate Insurance group.

Diana has gained broad insurance experience through legal roles both in-house, for national and international insurers, and in private practice in litigation and corporate advisory roles. Prior to pursuing her legal career, she was an insurance broker in the corporate risk management practice for international insurance brokers in Australia and the UK. With this combined experience, Diana specialises in providing advice to clients across a variety of industries on the terms, structure and placement of insurance policies and programs.

Diana enjoys the opportunity to use her extensive insurance and legal knowledge, skills and experience to provide insightful, strategic, practical and commercial technical and legal solutions for clients in litigation and in understanding and managing their insurance arrangements.

  • Construction, manufacturing and industrial clients Advising on the coverage, placement and adequacy of their insurance programs to respond to business, operational and risk exposures.
  • Construction, technology and entertainment clients Advising on the coverage, structure and alternative cover options for placement of specific classes of insurance including general liability and directors’ and officers’ liability insurance at renewal, in IPO’s or as part of M&A transactions.
  • Construction and property clients Conducting reviews of insurance policies to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and providing practical solutions to remedy any gaps.
  • Property and Construction clients Advising in the compilation of claims submissions and negotiating resolution of claims across all classes of insurance with a particular focus on large property and major civil works, professional indemnity and directors and officers liability insurance.
  • Financial services clients Acting as defence or coverage counsel in litigious and non-litigious directors’ and officers’ liability, professional indemnity, management liability, trustees liability and crime insurance claims.
  • A national general insurance company Advising on the drafting of their insurance policies – across all classes of general insurance for the retail and broker markets – to ensure coverage reflected policy intent, was within underwriting guidelines, and complied with regulatory obligations.
  • National and international insurers Advising in the conduct and management of claims, specifically in the provision of the technical advice on insurance coverage and development of litigation strategies in all jurisdictions and dispute resolution forums in Australia.
