David is a Partner in HWLE’s insurance group and has over 17 years of experience assisting and acting for life insurers, general insurers, businesses and government.
David’s main area of experience and expertise is advising on and defending total and permanent disablement, income protection, trauma and death claims in all states in Australia. David also has significant experience and expertise in advising and representing individuals and companies in a wide variety of commercial litigation in all Victorian courts and tribunals, including but not limited to what is a growing practice in property and tenancy related disputes.
David is a member of the Victoria committee of the Australian Insurance Law Association.

- Life insurers and superannuation trustees Advising on total and permanent disablement, income protection, trauma and death benefit claims. This includes advice and representation in litigation in courts and tribunals across all states in Australia and complaints made in AFCA, as well as strategic advice and assistance on claims which are currently under assessment.
- Commercial landlords and community housing providers Advising on claims made by tenants for compensation, trespassing, and evictions (including applications for possession orders).
- Companies and individuals Advising on a variety of commercial litigation. This includes claims concerning breaches of contract, consumer and trader type disputes and a failure to negotiate an agreement in good faith.
