Claire Smith

Claire Smith assists insurers and institutions respond to civil claims, including all aspects of personal injury litigation.

Claire has a broad range of legal experience, having practised as a solicitor in both NSW and Queensland, specialising in defending medical negligence and historical abuse claims.

Claire is currently the Secretary of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland.

Experience

Claire’s experience includes:

  • Government Departments concerning intentional torts, public liability and historical abuse claims, with a focus on alternative dispute resolution;
  • Medical Defence Organisations in relation to medical negligence, coronial inquests and professional disciplinary health related matters; and
  • Workcover Queensland in relation to workers compensation and common law claims.
