Alfonso Valenti
Alfonso is one of Australia’s leading outsourcing, technology, and contract/commercial lawyers, with deep procurement and commercial consulting experience.
Prior to joining HWL Ebsworth Alfonso worked for Herbert Smith Freehills and Minter Ellison, held senior commercial and procurement roles at two ASX100 companies, and ran his own boutique legal and commercial consulting practice.
Alfonso has worked with clients in the media, energy, mining, technology, manufacturing and financial services sectors. He has experience in advising across the full life cycle of business transformation, technology and strategic sourcing projects.

Experience
Alfonso’s experience includes advising:
- A major Australian Insurer on an IT transformation project involving the replacement of critical legacy systems with a cloud product, and a multi-year implementation and systems integration project;
- A major Australian Bank on a technology supply agreement for the development and launch of a new product;
- A WA Government agency on a complex multi-vendor IT procurement programme;
- GFG Alliance on its first major BPO project, which was constructed as a multi-service tower and multi-jurisdictional arrangement;
- Fairfax Media with its portfolio of outsourcing arrangements as part of the Fairfax of the Future program;
- Nine Entertainment Co. on its transformational print and distribution services arrangements;
- A number of leading affordable housing providers on the strategic procurement of IT systems and property maintenance services;
- Ausgrid for four years on all major TMT transactions, including major system and infrastructure procurement and upgrade projects, business critical outsourcing arrangements and data centre agreements;
- Westpac on the establishment of its strategic alliance with Allianz for general insurance products; and
- BHP Billiton with some of its key global procurement activities relating to IT, telecommunications and professional services, including its relationships with SAP and IBM.
