Alexandra Douvartzidis

Alexandra is a Special Counsel in the Litigation team in Adelaide. Alexandra predominately practises in the areas of regulatory and governance investigations and enforcement actions, competition and consumer protection law, defamation & media law, contractual disputes, privacy, intellectual property law, administrative, and government.

She has experience advising on regulatory issues, including responding to investigations and prosecutions by various Federal and state-based regulators (including ACCC, ASIC, AUSTRAC, TGA and ACMA). She has a strong interest in competition and consumer law, regularly advising on alleged breaches of the Australian Consumer Law and competition issues such as cartel conduct, price fixing, authorisations, notifications, and merger clearances. Alexandra also advises on defamation and reputational risk matters, and acts for media organisations in relation to pre- and post-publication issues, suppression applications, and advertising and broadcasting matters. She has been involved in numerous defamation proceedings, including high-profile cases for a major media network. Her broader commercial litigation practice includes intellectual property disputes involving trade marks, passing off and copyright, general contractual disputes (including misuse of confidential information and restraint of trade matters), and administrative law proceedings at both State and Federal levels.

Alexandra is also the Pro Bono Coordinator for the Adelaide Office.
