New Franchising Code

Market Insights

Late last year the Federal Government passed a regulation, known as the Treasury Laws Amendment (Miscellaneous and Technical Amendments) Regulations 2020, which had the effect of making minor amendments to the Franchising Code of Conduct.

The changes to the Code only concern the Information Statement by amending some website details. No changes were made to the Code itself.

Importantly, it does mean that franchisors must give out the new Information Statement and must give out the new compilation of the Code. The new Code can be found here. The correct version is ‘Compilation No.3’.

If you have any questions about the new Code or the Code generally, please contact one of our franchise team.
