HWL Ebsworth Lawyers’ (HWL Ebsworth) recent appointment to the Australian Taxation Office’s Tax Technical Panel marks our successful appointment to every legal services panel arrangement held by the Australian Government. In doing so, HWL Ebsworth becomes the only law firm in Australia selected for all legal services panels for the Commonwealth. This includes: the Whole of Australian Government Legal Services Panel; the Whole of Australian Government Legal Support Services Panel; the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and Australian Energy Regulator (AER) Competition and Consumer Law Panel; and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Tax Technical Law Panel.

In June 2019, HWL Ebsworth was appointed to the ACCC and AER Competition and Consumer Law Panel (SON3607590). Led by partners Richard Westmoreland and Peter Campbell, HWL Ebsworth was appointed alongside six other legal providers.
In August 2019, HWL Ebsworth was appointed to the Whole of Australian Government Legal Services and Legal Support Services Panels (SON3622041). Led by partners Michael Palfrey and George Marques, HWL Ebsworth became one of only two law firms in Australia who were selected as legal services providers for every practice area under all five areas of law under the Panel: Public Law; Corporate and Commercial; Property and Environment; Workplace, Industrial Relations and Compensation; and Litigation Specialisation.
Finally, in June 2020, HWL Ebsworth was successfully appointed to the ATO Tax Technical Panel (SON3696212) as a preferred provider on the primary provider list alongside one other law firm. Led by partners Shaun Cartoon and Yan Li Wang, this appointment confirms our selection to every current legal services panel for the Commonwealth, and solidifies HWL Ebsworth’s position as one of the Australian Government’s leading and trusted legal advisors.
