Thursday, 3 March 2022Session 3 - Managing a response to a public inquiry

In February 2021, the Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories established the public inquiry into the Norfolk Island Regional Council to, in general terms, inquire into and report on the NIRC's management of its finances and assets since July 2016. The Inquiry presented its report to the Assistant Minister on 4 November 2021.
HWL Ebsworth acted as solicitor assisting the Inquiry. The team was led by Asaf Fisher.
Drawing on his experience, Asaf explores how to manage a response to a public inquiry, focusing in particular on the scope of an Inquiry's powers.
