HWLE Lawyers advises DCOH on new 352 bed, purpose-built CBD Student Accommodation Building

HWLE has advised DCOH (as Contractor) on the Charles Darwin University Village, Danala Campus (CDU) Purpose Built Student Accommodation Project (Project).

For almost 40 years, DCOH has invested in Northern Australia through development, construction, operations, hospitality, and long-term asset ownership. As well as delivering award-winning infrastructure projects across Defence, civic and health sectors, the family-owned business proudly invests in large-scale residential communities, commercial buildings, and prime hospitality assets. With headquarters in Darwin’s CBD, and a team of 280+ employees, DCOH has recently expanded into Melbourne’s construction industry.

The Project is a complex public and private partnership arrangement and required a multidisciplinary team. HWLE’s advice throughout the project lifecycle included integrated construction, infrastructure, banking and finance expertise to assist DCOH in navigating a complex stakeholder environment.

By being involved from the early stages, HWLE helps clients align their commercial and delivery considerations from the outset, reducing friction and supporting efficient project progression.
