Jennifer is a Special Counsel in the Sydney team specialising in environment, planning and government law.

Jennifer has extensive experience in planning appeals, judicial review and environmental prosecutions in the Local and Land and Environment Court. She provides strategic and practical advice to the private sector and government clients on a wide range of issues in relation to development proposals, regulatory compliance and government decision making.

Jennifer has 20 years’ experience in New South Wales and 5 years’ experience overseas working on environmental regulation of the waste industry in the UK and in implementing national nature reserves with Natural England.

  • The NSW Minister for Environment & Heritage/NSW Environment & Heritage Advising on prosecutions relating to native vegetation clearing, heritage items, harm to national parks and wildlife and on government programs (such as kangaroo management and wildlife licensing).
  • NSW Department of Planning Advising on numerous matters relating to the assessment, determination and post-approval compliance of major projects (incl large scale residential projects, coal mines and windfarms) and planning proposals (incl Catherine Hill Bay rezoning, Sydney Cycleways).
  • NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Advising on Local Court prosecutions for biosecurity breaches in relation to fire ants.
  • Local council clients Advising on merit appeals, civil enforcement proceedings and considerations around boundary adjustments and policy development for assistance animals.
  • Developer clients Advising on merit appeals and responses to regulatory action (such as stop work orders under environmental protection legislation).
