Jayne represents Australian and international airlines, airport operators and other government and private entities within the transport industry in relation to a wide range of commercial matters including: the sale, leasing and finance of aircraft and engines, airport developments, airport conditions of use, terminal and airside access agreements, maintenance contracts, conditions of carriage, aviation fuel supply (SAF and conventional fuel), ground handling and airport leasing.
Jayne regularly advises clients on aviation regulatory matters, including aircraft traffic rights, the PPSR and Cape Town Convention, airport slots, curfew and movement limitations, the Airports Act, noise standards, aviation sustainability requirements including CORSIA, airport master plans and major development plans, safety regulation including the Civil Aviation Act and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, transport security requirements (including cyber threats) and international airline licensing.

Jayne’s experience includes advising:
- Various international and Australian airlines on the sale, leasing, charter and acquisition of aircraft including airliners, helicopters, business jets, general aviation aircraft and fleet-wide transactions;
- Numerous clients on the financing and security of aircraft and engines, including as to the application of the Cape Town Convention;
- A global cargo airline on its 2023 acquisition of an Australian regional airline, including as to the relevant CASA approvals;
- Various Australian airports on matters including airport development applications, airspace safeguarding, master plans and major development plans, leasing, conditions of use and airside/terminal agreements;
- Aircraft owners and operators on maintenance agreements, including ‘power by the hour’ arrangements;
- A number of Pacific Island airlines on regulatory matters including traffic rights, international airline licensing requirements, dangerous goods and Australian safety, noise and security obligations;
- Several airlines in the Asia-Pacific region on the requirements for commencing flights to and from Australia; and
- Various companies in relation to the drafting and negotiation of a range of aviation-specific contracts such as ground handling agreements, conditions of carriage, aviation-specific software services and cargo contracts.
