Emily was admitted in 2011 and is a Special Counsel in the HWL Ebsworth Insurance Practice based in Brisbane.
Emily has experience in acting predominantly for self-insured licensees in the area of workers’ statutory compensation, in particular, claims under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation 1988 (SRC Act). This includes conducting litigation in the AAT and Federal Court. Emily routinely provides advice and representation to self-insured licensees under the Commonwealth workers’ compensation scheme when Decisions are the subject of review in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (‘AAT’), Federal and Full Federal Courts of Australia as well as frequently appearing on behalf of clients at conferences, mediations, conciliations, directions hearings and interlocutory applications before the AAT. Emily’s experience also includes instructing counsel in Hearings before the AAT and in matters on appeal before the Federal Court and Full Federal Court.
