Peter has over 35 years’ experience as a commercial litigator having conducted proceedings throughout Australia and overseas. He is a qualified mediator. He has developed a national reputation in the areas of Regulatory Practice, Media and Communications Law, Intellectual Property, Competition and Consumer Law and Data Protection and Privacy. Peter has recently been named as one of the Top Ten Best Lawyers in Australia by Best Lawyers™ Australia.

Peter acts for many of the major mainstream and digital national media networks on pre and post publication defamation, contempt and broadcasting issues as well as a range of advertising, entertainment and sports agencies and organisations. He advises extensively on the protection and enforcement of IP rights and has substantial experience in handling infringement and opposition proceedings and negotiating technology transfer and commercialisation deals. Peter provides advice and assistance in the full range of matters under the Competition and Consumer Act and other competition and consumer legislation, including ACCC cartel and contravention proceedings as well as authorisations, notifications and national and multi-jurisdictional merger clearances. He also has significant experience in managing major regulatory investigations and prosecutions involving a range of regulators including ACCC (and State-based consumer authorities), ASIC, Takeovers Panel, ACMA, TGA, AHPRA, ICACs and investigations by AFP and State Police. He is the appointed ‘dawn-raid’ lawyer for a number of major national corporate clients.
