Paul Burgoyne

Paul specialises in providing technical advice in all areas of taxation law including income tax, capital gains tax and indirect taxes (GST, duty and land tax). With expertise in corporate and trust law, Paul acts for and regularly assists his clients with their commercial transactions, mergers, demergers, acquisitions and structuring.

Paul is a lawyer and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) with over 12 years’ experience working with corporate entities (both listed and private), not-for-profits, charities, high net wealth individuals and family groups with intricate structures and complex affairs.

Experience

Paul’s experience includes advising:

  • a large tech startup with their mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, consolidation, tax governance and pre-IPO structuring;
  • high net wealth individuals in marital proceedings including acting as the tax advisor for individual parties of the proceedings and providing the expert third party opinion;
  • accountants with respect to structuring, disputes and other technical matters for their clients;
  • corporate entities in obtaining rulings from the ATO and revenue authorities, including a listed company in a successful class ruling application; and
  • large family groups in respect of their disputes and audits with the ATO and other revenue authorities.
