Emily Dempster

Emily practices in all areas of employment law with particular expertise in disciplinary procedures, workplace investigations, redundancies and restructures and workplace litigation.

Emily assists corporate and public sector clients in a range of industries including manufacturing, transport, building and construction, health, professional services, not-for-profit, financial services and retail.

Emily is a Committee member of the Law Institute Victoria Workplace Relations Committee.


Emily’s experience includes advising:

  • A maritime company in a restructure of a team resulting in multiple reudundancies.
  • A State Government agency on a complex dismissal of a long term absent employee.
  • A conservation organisation on various transfer of employment issues arising out of outsourcing arrangements.
  • A transport company in respect of various unfair dismissal and general protections claims made following COVID-19 mandatory vaccination dismsisals.
  • A not-for-profit organisation in respect of a guarantee of annual earnings.
