Experience

Peter’s experience includes advising:

  • A large greenfield developer on a large scale master planned residential development for a new township that comprises a residential township, large town centre, educational establishments, hospital and other services. Advice has been provided on all aspects of the development from the initial forward planning requirements, to approvals, conditions of approvals, complex catalyst infrastructure agreements and other agreements with the local and various state entities necessary to allow the development and the supply of infrastructure. Peter received the award of “Consultant of the Year” from this client in 2014;
  • A Local government client as a “Probity Advisor” for a large South East Queensland Council and a State Government entity in relation to various transactions around the disposal and development of publically held land. This included both dry and wet land;
  • A developer on a large inner city developed site that was allegedly likely to cause contamination off site. The work involved preventing the administering agency from taking adverse action against the client while also facilitating agreement around the remediation of the site and its ultimate development;
  • An ASX listed client on the redevelopment of an extractive industry site into a major industrial warehouse subdivision. Many issues were involved including waterways, offsets, infrastructure and traffic and town planning conflicts. The appeal was resolved successfully, approval granted and the development is proceeding; and
  • An infrastructure client on various infrastructure requirements necessary to service a mine. This included advice regarding all aspects of approvals associated with a rail corridor and the approvals necessary under State legislation, as well as legal advice and acting as the development manager for the first development approval given within the Abbot Point State Development Area.
