Tarana is a Special Counsel in the Sydney Insurance practice and has over 8 years’ expertise in Statutory Workers Compensation and Employers’ Liability, in particular claims under the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme and the Federal Workers Compensation Scheme.

Tarana advises and represents private employers, government agencies, insurers, and self-insurers in respect of complex statutory litigated and unlitigated claims, involving serious injuries, across numerous industries including financial services, mining, the health and aged care sector and the public service.

Tarana is attuned to the needs of employers from her prior in- house experience at one of the largest private self-insurers in the Federal Workers Compensation Scheme, yielding an integrative approach to legal and commercial challenges.

Tarana works closely with employers and insurers to develop a strategic approach to managing complex claims and minimising risk, with a focus to achieving the best possible outcome for all stakeholders involved. She also provides advice and guidance to insurers and employers in relation to all regulatory and compliance aspects of the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme.

Tarana’s experience includes advising:

  • employers, insurers, self-insurers and government agencies in statutory claims for workers compensation under the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme and the Federal Workers Compensation Scheme;
