Matthew Powell
Matthew is a Partner in our property group, with extensive experience on a variety of commercial, industrial, retail and residential property transactions. Matthew’s practice also has a particular focus on renewable energy projects.
Matthew’s multi-jurisdictional experience extends across Victoria, NSW, Queensland, WA, South Australia and NT, providing national clients with consistency across their property portfolios.
Matthew was listed in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Doyle’s Guides of Property and Real Estate Rising Stars.
Experience
Matthew’s recent experience includes advising:
- Developers on the property aspects of large scale renewable energy projects (such as wind farms and solar farms), including leases, easements and options;
- Institutional and large corporate clients on the sale and acquisition of large property portfolios including bulky good centres, retail shopping centres, industrial sites, residential development sites and office buildings;
- Landlords and tenants on leasing including agreements for lease, subleases, assignments, variations, surrenders and renewals;
- Developers on development projects including preparation of off-the-plan contracts, options, development agreements, development management agreements and co-ownership agreements; and
- Banks on due diligence including undertaking an audit of pre-sale contracts and leases.
