Mark Riddington

Mark has advised clients on many major commercial matters over the last 9 years.

Mark’s experience includes providing project-specific advice on the administration of contracts including hospitals, water treatment plants, airports, shopping centre developments, infrastructure projects and demolition and remediation projects. Mark also assists clients with contract administration issues, commercial wrap-ups and construction disputes. He has particular expertise in the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999.

Mark drafts and advises on all forms of construction and infrastructure related documentation including alliance agreements; design and construct agreements; operate and maintain agreements; managing contractor agreements; project agreements; supply agreements; consultancy agreements; development agreements development management agreements; project management agreements; subcontract agreements facilities management contracts; standing offer deeds and other government and commercial documentation.

Experience

Mark’s recent experience includes:

  • Health Infrastructure: Preparation of suite of standard form agreements, advising on contractual documentation and insurance issues and for development at NSW hospitals;
  • Sydney Airport Corporation Limited: Legal assistance on over two hundred projects at Sydney Airport over the last 9 years, including the upgrade of the Airport for the A380 aircraft, trolley services, water treatment plant (including the O&M), procurement of new fixed links and aerobridges and the upgrades of terminal infrastructure, airfield lighting runways, taxiways, multi-storey carparks and a large variety of services and maintenance projects for the Airport;
  • ISS: Advising ISS Services in relation to a PPP project for the Royal North Shore Hospital, contractual documentation in relation to NSW government project for facilities maintenance and cleaning services at NSW schools, contracts for service provision including a detention centre in Western Australia and Crown Casino in Victoria and teaming and consortium agreements;
  • John Holland: When seconded at John Holland Mark provided advice in relation to tender and project documentation on a number of large government infrastructure projects as well other private projects. This involved reviewing, drafting and negotiating project agreements, head contracts, subcontracts, supply agreements, leases, joint venture agreements, consortium agreements and pre tender services agreements; and
  • Major Developments: Successful joint venture bid for Maintenance services for RMS traffic services for nominated zones in NSW. With a partner of the firm advised on a complex bid process and contractual framework requiring the transition of existing employees of RMS, licenses and equipment acquisition.
