Grant Rodoreda
Grant has over 10 years’ experience as a specialist construction lawyer, advising and acting for a wide range of construction industry clients, including major (Tier 1) contractors, private and public principals and industry professionals on energy, commercial and public infrastructure projects.
Grant’s dispute resolution (‘back-end’) focussed experience includes International Arbitration proceedings, litigation in the Supreme Court of WA and adjudication across various Australia Security of Payment Act jurisdictions.
Grant is also experienced preparing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements and tender issue documentation.
Experience
- John Holland in respect of proceedings in the Supreme Court of Western Australia over delays in the construction of the New Perth Children’s Hospital;
- Tier 1 Construction Contractor in relation to disputes in the NSW Supreme Court relating to delays in the construction of a major NSW Highway upgrade project;
- Tier 1 Construction Contractor in relation to a confidential International Arbitration seated in Singapore relating to the builder’s claims on the Ichthys Project. The hearing took place over 2 months in mid-early 2018, and concerned large disputes over delay, disruption and variations;
- WA based oil and gas operator in relation to compliance with upcoming major changes to WA construction industry security of payment legislation, and various other routine matters of construction industry regulatory compliance and contractual advice; and
- Perth Airport in relation to the defence of claims brought by the builder of the new T1 International Departures terminal in the WA Supreme Court, for costs arising out of disputed issues of delay, disruption and variations.
