Game over: Critical win for ACCC against Valve

Australians undertake online transactions daily – but how far does the law go to protect Australian conumers dealing with international companies online? In a significant win, the ACCC has successfully prosecuted US-based online gaming giant Valve Corporation for breaching the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The case has clarified some important questions about the application and reach of the ACL in regards to the supply of goods by overseas online platorm where the conract is governed by foreign law.
