HWL Ebsworth advises Macquarie on outsourcing deal with ANZ

HWL Ebsworth has acted for Macquarie Investment Management Ltd, on a key outsourcing arrangement with ANZ.

The Firm’s team carried out due diligence, assisted with the development of the deal structure and prepared and negotiated the documents.

At the heart of the outsourcing transaction is a new wrap platform, which is effectively an investment platform or system providing access to and administration of a very broad range of financial investments such as shares and managed funds.

Under the new arrangement, Macquarie will develop and administer a new wrap platform for ANZ’s advice partners which will replace ANZ’s current Oasis offering, while at the same time providing administration services for ANZ’s existing $6.9 billion Oasis business.

The HWL Ebsworth team was led by Joe Montano and Stuart Walton, with significant contributions from David Cinque and Ben Gulson. Robert O’Donohue, John Gray, Rowan McDonald, Tim Chan, Richard Westmoreland, Steven Penning and Mark Payne also provided substantial advice on specialist areas of law. The team’s ability to provide an integrated service against tight timetables was key to being able to meet Macquarie’s requirements for the deal.
