Timothy is a Special Counsel in HWL Ebsworth’s Sydney Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.

Timothy acts for a broad range of clients across a variety of industries and routinely advises on matters relating to fraud, forgeries, breach of contract, misleading, deceptive or unconscionable conduct as well as competition and regulatory matters.

Timothy is an experienced litigation lawyer with a demonstrated history in largescale and complex litigation undertaken in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and Family Court jurisdictions.

Experience

Timothy’s experience includes advising:

  • ACCC in its investigation and prosecution of matters concerning misleading and deceptive conduct engaged in by individuals and corporations;
  • Major international shipping corporation on investigations conducted by the ACCC and other international competition regulators concerning allegations of global cartel conduct;
  • Major American NASDAQ listed entity that develops and manufactures medical treatment systems in respect of claims brought by various Australian laser and beauty clinics concerning misleading and deceptive conduct;
  • Large accounting firm in relation to a claim for damages over alleged negligent investment advice and misleading and deceptive conduct;
  • Banks and financial institutions on issues relating to fraud, forgeries, breach of contract, misleading, deceptive or unconscionable conduct;
  • Large Australian bus line on proceedings instituted against another bus line for alleged breaches of contract relating to profit share provisions;
  • Banks and other organisations in respect of regulatory investigations conducted by ASIC and the ACCC; and
  • Various individuals in relation to matters the subject of investigation by ICAC.
