Thea Price

Thea Price is a Partner in the Workplace Relations and Safety Group in Brisbane and assists clients across extensive industries which include education, government owned entities, local government, retail, transport, construction, mining, electrical, manufacturing, health, farming and agriculture.

Thea has broad experience advising and advocating on behalf of clients in all aspects of employment law and workplace relations, including unfair dismissals, general protections, genuine redundancies, managing ill and injured workers, discrimination, enterprise  agreements, contracts of employment, contractor engagements, restraint of trade and industrial instrument compliance.

Thea regularly presents at seminars on topical employment law issues and also undertakes complex workplace investigations on matters that arise in the workplace, including the likes of bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, child protection and whistleblower matters.

Experience

Thea’s experience includes advising:

  • Large government owned entity on an organisational restructure and transfer of business advice;
  • Large Australian energy company on the management of an employee who had a long-term injury and risk mitigation against the potential for an unlawful termination;
  • An education provider in a complex workplace investigation involving a child protection complaint made against a teacher;
  • International company in the lift industry on the negotiation and certification of their enterprise agreements across Australia, including interactions with the ETU, AMWU and CFMEU; and
  • Large retail motor vehicle client by defending a discrimination complaint before the Queensland Human Rights Commission.
