Sannan Tariq is a Special Counsel in HWLE’s Construction and Infrastructure Group and regularly acts for clients in Residential, Rail, Transport, Education, Health, and Energy sectors.

Sannan specialises in all forms of disputes including litigation, arbitration, security of payment adjudications, mediations and expert determinations.

Sannan regularly represents tier 1 contractors, developers, builders, subcontractors, government clients in project disputes. Sannan acts as a strategic advisor to clients to resolve issues during the delivery phase of live projects before a formal dispute arises and continues to assist the client through the formal dispute resolution processes.

Sannan is a Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Society of Construction Law Australia.

  • JV  – Tier 1 Contractors Advising in a Resolution Institute Arbitration arising from the $8.3 billion Northwest portion of the Sydney Metro project.
  • Tier-1 and Mid-tier Contractors Advising on contractual entitlements, security of payment claims and options for dispute resolution including related adjudication applications and Court proceedings.
  • Property developer Advising in relation to a $16 million security of payment claim comprising of EOT (and related compensation), disruption and variation claims submitted by the head contractor in respect of a large mixed-used residential development in Sydney Olympic Park, NSW.
  • Tier-1 Contractor Advising in an ACICA expedited arbitration relating to defective works against a subcontractor during construction of the Nepean Hospital redevelopment project.
  • Aged-care developer Acting as an ongoing project counsel in relation to multi-million dollar claims submitted by the head contractor including advice on commencement of Court proceedings.
  • Tier-1 Contractor Advising in relation to commencement of NSW Supreme Court proceedings relating to a healthcare development in Shoalhaven NSW.
  • Critical subcontractor Advising in relation to the Snowy 2.0 project as ongoing project counsel for upstream and downstream claims.
  • Head contractor Advising in an expert determination under the Resolution Institute Expert Determination Rules in relation to a dispute relating to a residential development in the Australian Capital Territory.
