Ronan is a Special Counsel in the Commercial Litigation Practice in Perth.
Ronan acts for and advises commercial clients and insurers on a wide range of matters, including on complex contractual and commercial disputes, professional negligence claims, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, property damage claims and coverage and indemnity disputes.
Experience
Ronan’s experience includes acting for and advising:
- a publicly listed engineering, construction and maintenance company with respect to a $490 million claim relating to a fire at an iron ore processing facility;
- a building and construction company in a claim brought against the Minister for Works with respect to the construction of a hospital;
- insurers of a local government and acting, as instructing solicitor, for an officer of the local government in corruption charges brought by State of Western Australia;
- a steam turbine manufacturer (and its insurer) in proceedings relating to an alleged overheating and catastrophic failure event;
- clients on charges brought as a result of a workplace fatality;
- a publicly listed oil producer in a dispute regarding a farm-in and joint operating agreement for the exploration and mining of oil; and
- a property developer in proceedings commenced against it seeking to preserve a caveat over a property which it owned.
