Nhu Huynh

Nhu specialises in insurance litigation, acting for blue chip insurers and corporate self-insureds in the defence of personal injuries and insurance related claims. Her clients include domestic insurers as well as a large number of international insurers who are active in the Australian market. She has acted in public liability claims on behalf of insurers and their insureds in various industries, including Building and Construction, Mining, Infrastructure/Transport, Manufacturers/Importers, Retail and Hospitality.

Nhu’s areas of expertise include advising on indemnity issues, public liability claims, medical negligence, catastrophic claims, property damage and general insurance.


Nhu’s experience includes advising:

  • Major insurer on the defence of various sporting and recreational liability cases;
  • Major insurers on the defence of public liability claims for shopping centres, owners and occupiers of residential and commercial premises and statutory authorities arising under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (Qld) (PIPA);
  • Corporate self-insured and major insurers on the defence of work related personal injury claims on behalf of principals and contractors;
  • Major CTP Insurer on the defence of catastrophic claims made under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 (Qld) and PIPA; and
  • WorkCover Queensland on the defence of Common Law claims for, and on behalf of WorkCover Queensland and employers.
