Natasha is a Special Counsel in HWLE Commonwealth Government group with over 17 years’ legal experience gained in Australia and in the UK.
Since 2011, Natasha has specialised in advising the Commonwealth on its commercial contracting needs. Natasha is regarded by her Commonwealth clients as a trusted legal adviser and is known for her pragmatic and solutions focussed approach.
Natasha’s experience includes providing legal and probity advice for ‘high-risk, high-value’ procurement processes and grant processes, the application of Commonwealth procurement policy requirements and procurement law, providing commercial advice in relation to intellectual property regimes, confidentiality requirements, dispute resolution regimes, transition, variations, novation and termination processes, and contract management requirements generally.
Natasha is also experienced in providing commercial legal advice to clients in the not-for-profit sector, and in particular in the Canberra region, as part of her pro-bono work

- Commonwealth Government Advised multiple Departments and Agencies in relation to various procurement and grant programs, as both a legal adviser and probity adviser. Projects have been across a variety of subject matter including ICT, national security, telecommunications, health programs (including vaccinations), physical security, claims management systems and constructions services. As well as leading major procurement processes, Natasha provides advice in relation to administration of grant agreements, disputes with service providers, contract termination and novation, confidentiality and privacy.
- Department of Home Affairs Advised the Department for over a decade on its onshore and offshore commercial contracting activities. These activities include the Department’s (and the Australian Border Force’s) ‘high-risk, high-value’ major procurement processes (as legal and probity adviser), panel arrangements, grant arrangements and MOUs across a variety of subject matter, as well as general contract management, probity, negotiation and dispute resolution advice.
- Defence Advised on Defence’s commercial contracting arrangements including major acquisition and sustainment processes and disposal processes, template refresh projects and research and development contracts with the Defence Science & Technology Group, Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator and projects coordinated with the Australian Submarine Agency.
- Australian Digital Health Agency Advised the Agency in relation to numerous ICT arrangements including software licensing, intellectual property regimes, personal information and confidentiality regimes, procurements under panel arrangements, data processing agreements, contract negotiation and general contract management advice.
