Michael works with all parties involved in the property development industry – developers (private and publicly listed), vendors, purchasers, landlords, tenants, managers, agents, consultants and advisors.

Michael’s recent experience includes:

  • Local, foreign, public and private developers: Advising on the acquisition, development and creation of new residential, commercial and mixed use developments and master planned communities throughout Victoria, ranging from 50 to 3,000 lots – including due diligence, development agreements, sale and purchase agreements, compulsory acquisition and other property management issues, off the plan development contracts and subdivision and sale advice.
  • Commercial, industrial and mixed-Use assets: Advising developers on the development, sale, leasing and property management, including shopping centres, office buildings, warehouse facilities and retail premises;
  • Investment fund: Advised in relation to the acquisition of 3 large residential villages, including purchase of substantial land and business assets, as well as extensive due diligence into hundreds of residency agreements, advising on legislative compliance issues and complex GST and stamp duty advice;
  • Developer: Advised in relation to negotiating the acquisitions of development and land purchase rights with approximately 10 adjoining landowners to form a new suburb in Melbourne’s growth areas, including extensive due diligence, drafting of development agreements, option agreements, contracts for sale, equalisation and  facilitation agreements as well as commercial negotiations, GST and stamp duty advice to the developer; and
  • Developer: Advised in relation to a co-operation agreement with an adjacent developer involving complex land swap agreements, shared transport and servicing infrastructure agreements and other development implementation agreements to enable delivery of a new suburb in Melbourne’s growth areas.
