Lana Remedi

Lana is a dual qualified lawyer with over 15 years’ multi-jurisdictional experience in both Civil Law and Common Law jurisdictions. Lana’s expertise ranges from complex multiple party civil litigation to policy drafting and coverage advice to domestic and global insurers and reinsurers, as well as Lloyds syndicates.

Lana manages a broad range of complex professional indemnity and product liability matters, including claims against company directors, valuation companies, engineers, manufacturers/suppliers, auditors and  financial services providers.

Lana is a chair of TecHub committee of the Australian Insurance Law Association, which is tasked with tackling and  raising awareness about challenges/opportunities presented by digital and other technological transformations and their impact on the insurance industry.

In recognition of her contribution to the Insurance Industry, Lana was chosen as a finalist in the 2016 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards, Senior Associate category.
Lana is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian.


  • Some of the largest valuation and commercial real estate companies in Australia successfully defending several multimillion dollar claims made by bank lenders against some of the largest valuation and commercial real estate services companies in Australia;
  • Lloyds Liability Insurers acting in a multimillion dollar claim by several plaintiffs against an overseas manufacturer of an Elevated Working Platform;
  • Achieving an excellent result in a multimillion dollar claim by several plaintiffs against the owner of a collapsed Ferris Wheel. This matter had complex factual and causation issues, simultaneous Workcover prosecutions and numerous cross-claims by/against various engineers;
  • Various ASX listed companies acting for ASX listed companies, including second largest private hospital operator in Australia, leading providers of pathology services, aged care facilities, medical centres and laboratories.
  • Director of one of Australia’s largest construction companies defending a multimillion dollar insolvent trading claim made by a liquidator; and
  • One of the largest audit companies in Australia defending a multimillion dollar negligence claim made by a liquidator.
