Chris Hood

Chris is a Partner in the litigation practice. He specialises in complex commercial disputes and has acted on behalf of government bodies, listed entities, public and private companies, partnerships and individuals in various jurisdictions across Australia. He regularly represents clients involved in inquiries and regulatory proceedings.

Chris has extensive experience advising clients in areas including agriculture, contract law, corporations law, consumer law, building and construction, mining, and property.


Chris’ recent experience includes acting for:

  • Numerous listed entities in responding to and defending regulatory inquiries and prosecutions;
  • SSE listed Chinese miner in a claim for breaches of warranties provided under share sale agreement;
  • Group of shareholders in claim against listed entity for oppressive conduct and other contraventions of the Corporations Act;
  • Aquaculture producer in proceedings against State government for breach of contract and misleading and deceptive conduct;
  • One of Australia’s largest restaurant franchises, in a property dispute involving a claim for adverse possession; and
  • Former City of Perth councillor in his examination as part of the City of Perth Inquiry.
